'Al Drayson is fast becoming one of  London's up and coming crooning sensations. His unassuming, modest persona and smooth, heart warming sound have found him a place in the hearts of an ever increasing band of admirers.' 

It was 2007 that proved to be the year that found Al Drayson rising from artist obscurity amidst the sprawling metropolis, London. 

A self-taught and self-styled crooner, Al stumbled across his hidden talents late on in life. Inspired by overwhelming praise and positive reviews he had received from those lucky enough to witness his rare impromptu laid back performances, a hobby quickly became a love affair.

"I was never a performer…just an avid fan of that genre. From a young age the big band arrangements, smooth vocals and inspiring lyrics from the likes of Sinatra, Martin and Darin were obviously make an unassuming impact on what was to come."

In 2006 Al was persuaded to enter the recording studio for the first time and paid tribute to those from whom he had drawn his inspiration. The ten recordings initially sat on a shelf gathering dust until he was encouraged to place them on the global networking website, MySpace. Al's recordings received rave reviews both far and wide which also lead to international air-play on several radio stations State side!

Following the success of these recordings Al repackaged them as his debut album, 'Vegas Nights'. His desire to share his talents with wider audiences was more than evident in 2007 with performances in some of the most unique spots in London and stretching to the further flung locations of Berlin and Hong Kong.

At the beginning of 2008 Al headed back to the studio to produce an album with an altogether diffrent feel and vocal sound. Al chose many 'forgotten songs' in order to tell a story and explore his own vocal style and produced, 'As The Curtain Falls'.

'Iv enjoyed recording 'As The Curtain Falls…'. I wanted to revitalise some of the older, rarer classics that time may have forgot. The overall sound is also very different from my earlier recordings, more relaxed, more me…I suppose more of a British sound'.

Whilst recording 'As The Curtain Falls...' Al took some time off from performing live but is now 'back on the road' and very much sought after!
Onstage it's clear there's no other place he would rather be…a polished performer with an abundance of charisma and an undeniable stage presence will be sure to find him a place in your heart.
